This year, the most expected releases from AR Rahman are his albums for Mani Ratnam’s  Kaatru Veliyidai , Shankar’s  2.0  and Rajiv Menon’s musical  Sarvam Thaala Mayam . The Oscar-winning musician has something else in store too — a documentary-concert film on the lines of Michael Jackson’s  This Is It .

Titled  One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film , it chronicles Rahman's concert tour across 14 cities in America in 2015 with accompanying artistes such as Ranjit Barot and Haricharan. Conceptualised as a tribute to the Mozart of Madras completing 25 years in the film industry, it will feature plenty of interviews — old and new — and backstage scenes from concerts. Nasreen Munni Kabir, a well-known television producer and author, has done the editing and some of the interviews with Rahman in the film.

Produced by Grape Ventures in association with YM Movies, the movie was premiered exclusively in Toronto's Scotia Bank cinema hall in February.  One Heart  is scheduled to release worldwide in April this year. The proceeds from the film will go towards a corpus fund based in Mumbai that supports musicians and their families
