Director Karthick Naren wishes to make a statement with his debut suspense thriller, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru .
Karthick says the USP of his film is “portraying that police officers are human too, and wear their heart on their sleeve while earning their livelihood. Rahman was my only choice, and he handled a seemingly-difficult role with stunning ease. I had to fine-tune his body language in a few frames when his emotions threatened to get the better of him. If the movie lingers in the minds of the audience, it will be a victory of sorts for me.”
Karthick says that Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru “is the culmination of an intensive probe into the world of crime for the better part of a year. It is also partly imaginary, and I am confident that the end product will justify the means in a home production, with my father pitching in support at the right time.”
On the meaning of the title, Karthick felt spelling it out could give away the storyline. “The idea is to let the audience come in and see it for themselves. Well, I have to protect the interest of the distributors too,” he says.
