Kollywood actor Vijay, who remained silent even as Tamil outfits upped the ante against Kaththi 's producer, Lyca Productions, who was alleged to have business links with Sri Lankan President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, has released a statement thanking producers for agreeing to remove Lyca from the film's banner. He also thanked former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
In a statement, he said, "Over the last few days, few Tamil outfits have been demanding that references to Lyca Productions be removed from the film's banner and title. Since the producers have agreed to remove the name from the title and banner, the conflict has been resolved and decks have been cleared for its release this Deepavali. I hope the fans and public enjoy the film this Deepavali."
"I thank J. Jayalalithaa for all the support. I also thank the police and exhibitors," he said.
The actor also wished everyone for Deepavali.
