With a scene from Kabali reportedly having leaked online on Wednesday night, social media sites remained abuzz on Thursday, a day ahead of the movie's release on July 22.

After the two minute clip went viral on social media platforms, producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu took to Twitter to say:

While rumours suggested that the scene might have been leaked after an early screening in the USA, Madhu Garlapati of Cine Galaxy said that the leaked video wasn't from special show screened in the country.

"It is from a screening in one of the Arab countries as it is clear from the subtitles," she said.
