‘Game of Thrones’ actor Murphy dies at 86

Veteran actor J. J. Murphy passed away at 86, four days after filming his first scenes for TV show ‘Game of thrones’ season 5.

The actor collapsed and died on August 9. The cause of death is not certain yet. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their children, reported the Huffington Post .

Murphy’s funeral will be held on August 15. He had shot for the role of the oldest member of the Night’s Watch on the HBO drama. Murphy also did a small role in the upcoming film ‘Dracula Untold’, opposite Luke Evans and Dominic Cooper.

It is not yet known whether ‘Game of Thrones’ producers will make the decision to recast his part in series five, or rewrite future scenes originally intended to feature his character.

His past credits include parts in ‘Angela’s Ashes’ (1999) and ‘Mickybo and Me’ (2004).
