Bollywood gives thumbs up to ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ trailer

The film features Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Shefali Shah, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.

The trailer of Zoya Akhtar’s much-awaited film Dil Dhadakne Do , which was unveiled on Wednesday, has been lauded by several Bollywood celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar and Sridevi.

The film features an ensemble cast of Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Shefali Shah, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, and tells the story of a dysfunctional Punjabi family on a cruise trip.

In the trailer, Kamal Mehra (Anil) and Neelam Mehra (Shefali) are seen worrying about their two children played by Ranveer and Priyanka.

Anushka plays Ranveer’s love interest, while Farhan is seen wooing Priyanka.

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who has worked with Zoya in Luck by Chance , praised the trailer, saying, “Good show Zoya. Your trailer heralds the storm that is coming! All looking good special mention to Anil Kapoor. He looks dashing.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar shared the link to the trailer on Twitter and called, “Too much fun.”

Calling the film and “wholesome entertainer, actress Sridevi said, “Saw trailer of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ Fabulous looking wholesome entertainer. Absolutely spellbound! @AnilKapoor @FarOutAkhtar @priyankachopra.”

“Watched the trailer of #DilDhadakneDo last night. Loved it. Charming, fresh, great cast. Looking forward to watch the film.:) @AnilKapoor,” actor Anupam Kher posted on Twitter.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor said she loved the trailer so much that she wants to watch the movie now.

“Dil Dhadakne Do” is scheduled to hit theatres on June 5.

Zoya’s last film was 2011 road-trip, friendship tale, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara . She had also directed a section in Bombay Talkies in 2013.
