Rahman embarks on first US tour in five years

Tickets for the 13-city tour will go on sale on March 6, with VIP packages available till March 4.

Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman is all set to start his North American tour from May 21, 2015.

He will include material from throughout his 20-year career on the 13-city tour, which will come to an end on June 14 at Redmond in WA Marymoor Amphitheater.

Sponsored by JBL, the tour is titled A R Rahman: The Intimate Concert Tour . Tickets go on sale on March 6, with VIP packages available till March 4.

“I’ve been wanting to return to North America to perform for a while now, and I’m excited to be coming back for a series of concerts this spring,” a >statement on Rahman's Facebook page said. He had earlier performed in US in 2010.

“These are going to be very special performances and I’m grateful to have the chance to share them with you,” he added.

Rahman, 48, is currently working on a composition for the film Pele , a biopic on the Brazilian soccer legend.

He is also the subject of a new documentary about his music, called Jai Ho , which premiered on February 25 at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. \
