After the overwhelming win in West Bengal, the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said that "the TMC has fought alone. Despite all forces coming against us and a terror unleashed during polls despite that people had voted."
Ms. Mamata said "I thank people for their overwhelming support."
Ms. Mamata said "I have only one thing to say that there should be lakshman rekha in politics. I don't think this is good for politics and democracy. There has been attempts to mislead people, I was ashamed to hear such things from political opponents. Our goal in the past five years was development.
"Many are asking Didi why are you not smiling, I am telling them that people smile is my smile. Ten of my party supporters have been killed during polls, have faced many troubles during polls. There has been excesses by police.
"Bhawanipore there was a terror. I will not blame EC for this. It was because of police. Politics during the polls have reached its nadir during polls. I will tell my political opponents take lesson from their experience. I appeal for peace."
Ms. Mamata finally added that "There will be victory march".
Ms. Mamata said "On 20th May at 12 noon all elected MLAs will meet and select the leader of the party. The new govt will take oath on May 27, 2016."
She said "the Prime Minister had called me to congratulate. Others like Arun Jaitley, Suresh Prabhu and Amitabh Bachchan had called."
Ms. Mamata further added "Socio economic development for downtrodden will be our priority."
She also said "People have rejected the issue of corruption."
