Manmohan calls up Modi to congratulate him

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday called up Narendra Modi, who is set to succeed him, and congratulated him on BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha polls.

Dr. Singh made the phone call to Mr. Modi even while trends were indicating a clear majority for the BJP, PMO sources said.

Mr. Modi will be succeeding Dr. Singh who will be demitting the office of Prime Minister on Saturday after 10 years.

Dr. Singh will also address the nation on Saturday.
