Assailing the Gujarat model of development, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, on Friday accused the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi of giving away thousands of acres of land in his State to his "friends" at "throwaway prices" and questioned his commitment towards farmers.
"People understand very well what Modi's Gujarat model of development is. They are knowledgeable and know that you have given thousands of acres of land to your friends in the industry. Why don't you tell them the state of farmers and workers (in Gujarat)," Ms. Vadra said in Rae Bareli where she is campaigning for her mother Sonia Gandhi, Congress president.
While on Wednesday Ms. Vadra defended her husband Robert Vadra in the illegal land deal case, on Thursday she directed her attack on the double standard of Mr. Modi on women empowerment and raked the "snoopgate" controversy.
Ms. Vadra resumed from where she left and on Friday took jibes at Mr. Modi advising him to stop using phrases such as "RSVP" and "ABCD" as he was not addressing not addressing a "primary school classroom," but the people of the country.
"You must be watching (Mr. Modi's rallies) on television. Kabhi ABCD, kabhi RSVP. Aur kabhi da se desh aur ka se kouwa. Ba se bandh bhi to kariye. (Sometimes ABCD, sometimes RSVP. Other time d for desh (country) and c for crow. Now please stop it)," said Ms. Vadra.
In a recent election rally, Mr. Modi had said that the Congress was faithful to the "RSVP Model" of governance where a person could increase his wealth multiple times in a short span. Expanding RSVP, Mr. Modi said it stood for Rahul, Sonia, Vadra, Priyanka, a jibe at the allegations of corruption leveled against Mr. Vadra.
Mr. Modi had also used the acronym 'ABCD' to target the Congress on the scams under its rule, namely Adarsh, Bofors and Coal.
Appealing the voters in Rae Bareli to vote for her mother, Ms. Vadra recounted the development work done by her in the constituency-setting up of technical institutes, rail coach factory and construction of roads.
