A BJP victory in the Lok Sabha polls is a foregone conclusion, the party's PM candidate Narendra Modi told a rally in Betul on Friday.

Speaking to voters in the seat reserved for scheduled tribes, where Makrai royal family scion Ajay Shah of the Congress faces sitting BJP MP Jyoti Dhruve, Modi asked voters to ensure "lotuses bloom in all 29 seats of Madhya Pradesh and the BJP gets a clear majority of 300 seats in the Lok Sabha." The lotus is the poll symbol of the BJP.

"We are winning anyway by the votes polled so far, the question now is of forming a strong government." Continuing his charge against corruption and perceived weakness of PM Manmohan Singh, Modi said, "The Congress is filled with the cunning and the corrupt. Corruption runs in their blood."

Referring to the Gandhi family's role in governance, he said the PM's former media advisor Sanjaya Baru's book 'The Accidental Prime Minister' has proved that India was being run by "mother and son" and not the PM.

Mr. Modi also addressed a rally in Khandwa in support of party candidate and BJP state general secretary Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan.
