Censuring BJP leader Giriraj Singh for his “highly provocative” >statement that those who oppose Narendra Modi have to move to Pakistan, the Election Commission on Wednesday asked him to be careful in future.

The poll panel had earlier >banned him from campaigning after his April 18 remarks and issued a show-cause to him.

The EC was convinced that he had made a highly provocative speech which had the impact of aggravating differences or creating mutual hatred between different communities, and thus violative of the model code of conduct.
