Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday confirmed that he will be filing the nomination papers from Badami on Tuesday.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said in Mysuru that party leaders from North Karnataka pressured him to contest from Badami and the high command gave its consent for the same.

The Chief Minister said he was worried about the BJP candidate who will be contesting against him from Badami.

To a question on allegations that he opted for Badami as he was not confident of winning from Chamundeshwari, he retorted, “Why is H.D. Kumaraswamy contesting from Ramanagaram and Channapatna?”
