Alleging that Bengaluru was under the clutches of mafia, Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on Monday called upon the people to dislodge this mafia by bringing the BJP to power.
Addressing an election rally in Kolar Gold Fields, he said Congress leaders N.A. Haris, K.J. George, and Roshan Baig were controlling Bengaluru. “The city’s development has come to a standstill owing to the mafia of the trio,” he said and added: “Bengaluru’s progress is stuck in traffic jam.”
Mr. Shah said the trio should be defeated in the elections for the development of Bengaluru. It is also imperative to dislodge the present government for the overall progress of Karnataka, he said.
The government has done little for the development of the State in the last five years. Corruption is its only achievement, he said.
While elections to the State Assembly will be held on May 12, counting of votes will be done on May 15. As the counting process progresses, a new government led by the BJP will be formed by 1 p.m. on that day, he said.
The BJP leader said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi was supporting corruption by meeting RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted in fodder scam.
