83% of Haryana MLAs are crorepatis

As many as 75 out of 90 newly elected MLAs in Haryana are crorepatis with BJP leading the pack with 40 legislators possessing assets in excess of Rs. 1 crore, according to Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).

Among the 90 winning MLAs in Haryana, nine are facing criminal cases and five of them belong to the BJP, the report said.

Seven MLAs had declared their assets size in excess of Rs. 50 crore with BJP MLA from Faridabad, Vipul Goyal, declaring highest assets worth Rs. 106 crore.

The average assets of the 47 winning BJP MLAs was found as Rs. 10.50 crore while the average of 19 INLD MLAs was found as Rs. 13.01 crore. Fifteen Congress MLAs have average assets worth of Rs 12.45 crores and 5 Independent winners have average assets of Rs 13.95 crore.

Among the 12 MLAs who have not filed income tax returns, seven are from BJP.
