You will love Thimbleweed Park if you are a fan of the classic 90s games. Developed for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Linux, the game follows the journey of two federal agents who are investigating a murder. It has the same look and feel as games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Gold Rush! and Dune. Played from a third person perspective, the player’s inventory is displayed at the bottom of the page, along with a list of verbs including open, close, give, talk to, push, use, and so on. During the game, one can switch between five different player characters.

Endless Space 2

Genre: Turn-based strategy

Publisher: Sega

Developed by Amplitude Studios, this is a turn-based, 4X space-strategy game. At the beginning, players need to choose a race, each of which has different traits and perks. The aim is to manage an empire and expand it by conquering other systems. One can build ground troops and ships to attack other empires while applying different battle tactics. The game has been praised for its narrative, soundtracks and artwork.

Nex Machina

Genre: Shoot ‘em up

Publisher: Housemarque

Even though games these days take pride in featuring an open-world environment, arcade games have their own alluring charm. Played from a top-down perspective, this game comprises different stages of increasing difficulty. Each stage has various rooms where players have to defeat waves of enemies, and, optionally, save defenceless humans to boost their score. Developed by Finland-based studio Housemarque, Nex Machina is available for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.
