Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, is organising a two-day seminar on “Managing HR during the recent downturn” from November 13 in the city. Leading line managers and HR professionals share their experiences in tackling the severe financial slowdown of last year.
The event will be inaugurated by Krishnakumar Natarajan, CEO, MindTree Ltd., and the guests include K. Ramkumar, Director, HR, ICICI Bank, Padmaja Alaganandan, India Business Leader, Human Capital, Mercer Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. and N.M. Agarwal, IIM-B. The resourcepersons at the seminar include top honchos of the industry including B. Ravishankar, Senior VP, HCL Technologies, B.Venkataramana, Senior VP-HR, Lifestyle Landmark Group, and J.N. Amrolia, Executive Director, Construction & Allied Businesses, Ashok Leyland.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has predicted a growth rate of 6.3 per cent for the nation in the future and a World Bank report released in September said that India weathered the crisis of the global economic meltdown ‘extraordinarily well.’ This great survival act was not by chance, but was mainly because of the proactive and reactive strategies taken by the top managers in organisations. HR professionals played a great role in the transformation and renewal that was taking place in the organisations, according to a statement from XIME.
With sessions on manufacturing, IT & ITES, retailing and hospitality sectors, the seminar looks to benefit professionals, academicians and management students. For further information, contact programme coordinator Ekta Sanghvi at ekta.sanghvi@yahoo.com
