Students unwind at SVU youth fest

Showcasing talent: Students performing a group dance at the inter-collegiate youth festival in Tirupati.
Fun and frolic marked the inter-collegiate youth festival organised by Sri Venkateswara University at Tirupati on Saturday.
The inauguration was held at the Senate Hall, while the competitive events were conducted by the varsity’s Directorate of Student Welfare and Cultural Affairs at Glass House (Annamayya Bhavan) and Anthropology gallery.
Vice-Chancellor N. Prabhakara Rao declared the festival open by lighting the traditional lamp, while the Registrar Y.Venkatrami Reddy presided.
Students from various colleges affiliated to SV University, spread over Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa districts, took part in the event.
The various competitions conducted included semi-classical vocal solo and group, western solo/group/classical instrumental,free style dances, classical, folk and tribal dances, folk orchestra, skit, one-act plays, mime, mimicy, quiz, elocution, poetry recitation, debate, cartooning, spot-painting, poster- making, clay modeling, collage and Rangoli among other things.
