Prestigious award for sculptor-painter
Veteran sculptor and painter C.S.N Patnaik has been chosen to be awarded with the Visishta Puraskam - 2007 presented by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Hailing from Srikakulam, Patnaik was a student of Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhuri. He has been making extraordinary sculptures since six decades including statues of Kandukuri Veeresalingam and Aurthor Cotton on the Tank Bund. He has also bagged many prestigious awards and facilitations. The award will be presented on December 2.

in Hyderabad UoH inks MoU with Thai varsity The University of Hyderabad (UoH) signed a MoU with Mahasarakham University (MU) of Thailand. Both the universities decided to work jointly in the areas of mutual academic interest such as Computer and Information Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences among others.
Nathanon Trachoo, Assistant to the President for International Relations of MU, and Prakash Sarangi, Registrar in-charge of UoH, singed the MoU. Dr. Sujin and E. Rama Reddy of MU and B.P. Sanjay, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Deans of Schools and Heads of various Departments of UoH were present on this occasion.
Award to OU professor
V.M. Pandharipande, a senior Professor at OU College of Engineering, was accorded with prestigious Anna University National Award by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, for his outstanding academics.
The prize will be presented to him at ISTE annual convention and IFETS International Conference, which will be held at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bubhaneshwar in December, during December 19 to 2. Prof. Pandharipande is presently serving as Director, Centre of Excellence in Microwave Engineering, established by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the college.
He was earlier honoured with IETE award for his contributions to research of Microwave and Radar Engineering and manpower training.
