‘Stalin’ inspires this techie

Inspired by ‘Stalin’, the blockbuster movie of megastar Chiranjeevi, a software engineer of a leading IT company of Hyderabad had come forward to contribute his mite for his motherland, Karimnagar, by providing counselling and guidance to future software engineers of the district.

Meet Ram Dheeraj Gadiyaram, a programme analyst of an IT company, along with his friends Dileep Chintala and Harika Punnami of Cognizant have formed a voluntary organization called, ‘Akruthi’, giving shapes to dreams.

Rural students

Ram Dheeraj struck the idea to start a voluntary organisation to help rural students prepare their curriculum vitae (CV), interview, and group discussions etc after noticing students facing some hardships while preparing their CVs during the opportunities fair conducted by The Hindu.

Accordingly, he arrived in Karimnagar district and started conducting counselling and career guidance to the students of engineering colleges.

So far he conducted counselling for students at Vivekananda Institute of Technology and Sciences (VITS) and Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Sciences. Incidentally, there was good response to his counselling programme with large attendance by the students.

Technical skills

Basically a mechanical engineer from Vasavi College of Engineering, he educates students about the technical skills required by the IT companies and non-technical skills such as critical reasoning, problem-solving, conference management, excellent management and communication skills. Besides, he educates the students about preparations for group discussions, interviews with power point presentations.

Mr Dheeraj told The Hindu said that he was inspired by the film, ‘Stalin’ to help a person so that he would further help another person and there would social change in the society. “If my counselling and guidance helps 10 students secure jobs, they would in turn help 10 other persons to secure jobs,” he maintains.

Government colleges

He said that he is spending his holidays in Karimnagar district to help other students secure jobs in IT companies. He also said that he was planning to conduct counselling programmes in Government degree colleges of the district and help the poor secure jobs.
