IECD Director K. Parthasarathy can be contacted at 0431 - 2421635/2332638.

Bharathidasan University considers the three-month certificate course in Call Centre Management and the six-month diploma course in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Management it has introduced in association with the New Delhi-based Chauhan Knowledge Process Management Limited as an ideal opportunity for students to earn while they learn.

The company has assured cent per cent placement for candidates joining these courses for which the minimum qualification is a pass in Plus-Two.

While undergoing the courses at the university's Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD) at the Khajamalai campus in Tiruchi, the candidates will be offered projects that would earn those among them with the right aptitude the amount they pay as fee.

Since the courses are offered for five batches - two hours for each batch - a day, the university reckons that they will be patronised well by students of affiliated colleges in the city and suburbs.

The advantage for the candidates completing the courses is that they find ready acceptance of the BPO companies by virtue of their hands-on experience and possession of a qualification approved by a university.

The candidates will be equipped to handle jobs in BPO segments dealing with several areas including management, business, insurance, and medical transcription. Experts from New Delhi and Bangalore would handle the programmes.

IECD is equipped with 65 computers and the university will increase the capacity depending on the patronage for the courses, Vice-Chancellor C. Thangamuthu said. There will be 750 students in each centre, according to the director of the company, Manish Bansal.

In Tiruchi, the fees for the certificate and diploma courses are Rs. 12,000 and 20,000 respectively.
