The theme of Survey of the Environment 2011 is "Environment: Development and Governance". The Survey will focus on the Forest Rights Act, Environmental Law and governance, politics and ecological sense in India, handling disasters - Fukushima and after and Jaitapur - what are the lessons from Japan? Other issues which add value to the editorial fare are human-animal conflicts, invasive species, threat to fishing cats and the amphibian crisis in India.
