MGNREGS demand slackens

After a substantial increase in households (HHs) that were provided 100 days and more of guaranteed employment under the MGNREGS scheme in 2015-16, there was a drop to 2015-16 levels in 2016-17. One reason for this was lesser demand in States as they were less drought-affected in 2016-17 than in 2015-16.
