Cricket Australia chief Sutherland to stand down

Long-serving Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland announced on Wednesday that he will be stepping down.

Sutherland stated that the ball-tampering issue didn’t have a bearing in his decision, that he has given 12 months’ notice and that he will continue in his current role till a suitable replacement is found.

Marquez tests F1 car

Four time MotoGP champion and this season’s current leader Marc Marquez test drove a Toro Rosso F1 car on Tuesday. Marquez, however, clarified that he is completely focussed on MotoGP in the coming years, but didn’t rule driving a F1 car in a few years time.

Thiem ready to take step further

Having lost in the semi-finals to the eventual winner of the French Open in 2016 and 2017, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem is keen to make amends this time around.

Ahead of his semi-final against Marco Cecchinato on Friday, Thiem mentioned that he is a better player now in general and is fresher mentally and physically this time around when compared to previous years.
