Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd on Tuesday launched two new initiatives ‘Shriram One Stop' and ‘Shriram New Look' to address the vast needs of truck drivers and owners in the State. The ‘One Stop' is a virtual truck bazaar, a common platform for buyers and sellers of used trucks. The second initiative is a project in which the company will acquire used trucks from the market and refurbish them and sell under a new brand ‘New Look'.
The company is in the process of setting up touch-screen kiosks at its 482 branches in the country, which will provide real-time information on used commercial vehicles available for sale. “This will bring transparency to the buying and selling process of commercial vehicles. The services will benefit all in the transport industry and will facilitate faster replacement and better quality used vehicles on the roads,” said deputy managing director, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd, U. G. Revankar.
Used trucks will be purchased by the company and refurbished, complete with necessary paper work related to vehicle ownership by Shriram Finance. “We will provide finance to buyers to purchase vehicles. Our aim is to provide complete financial services to commercial vehicle owners and drivers. Our company has helped replace close to two million trucks by providing finance,” he said.
The launching of the two new initiatives was also attended by Joint Commissioner of Department of Transport C. L. N Gandhi and film actor Padmapriya and top officials from the finance company.
