With start-ups gaining ground in India and rising number of people opting to turn entrepreneurs, UpGrad, an online education venture for working professionals, on Monday launched its application process for its entrepreneurship programme.

The company, co-founded by Ronnie Screwvala, Mayank Kumar, Ravijot Chugh and Phalgun Kompalli, has launched a 15-week intensive online programme called ‘StartUp with UpGrad’ for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The course is designed to provide insights from India’s leading entrepreneurs and frameworks from leading faculty members.

“As an aspiring entrepreneur there are 100s of things that one needs to keep in mind”, said Mayank Kumar, Co-founder and Managing Director.

“We have designed our entrepreneurship programme to provide a clear roadmap to aspiring entrepreneurs on things to focus on while starting a new business. As part of the programme, students will learn from the experiences of more than 30 leading entrepreneurs, understand frameworks from top faculty members and apply these learnings to their own venture idea,” Mr. Kumar said.

The 15-week online programme will provide young Indian professionals the clarity of thought for their entrepreneurial journey through live lectures, case studies, group assignments and real-life application, UpGrad said.

The course will include learnings from some of India’s known entrepreneurs such as Bhavish Aggarwal, of Ola Cabs; Radhika Aggarwal of ShopClues; VSS Mani of JustDial; Rishi Malhotra of Saavn; Pankaj Chaddah of Zomato to name a few, along with globally known faculty members.

UpGrad has made a provision of three months of free trial for interested candidates and the course would cost Rs.50,000 plus taxes. The course is aimed at providing insights into real-life successes and mistakes from the founders of established start-ups.
