The joint venture would set up its manufacturing facility at Trivitron's Medical Technology Park at SIPCOT, Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. The plant is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2011. Till then, the existing facility of Trivitron in Chennai would manufacture these products.

Mr. Velu said there was an increased demand for cardiac diagnostic instruments and the Chennai facility would be largest one in Asia catering to all emerging markets. The joint venture would implement high-end tele cardiology and tele medicine solutions especially for rural people. He said Trivitron would hold 51 per cent and ET Medical the balance in the joint venture.

The new alliance was the fourth manufacturing joint venture for Trivitron. Trivitron would have around 10 such manufacturing facilities by 2010. The Park would be having collaborations with world-renowned medical technology companies.
