Tata DoCoMo, the first private operator to introduce 3G services this Diwali, on Tuesday announced tariffs for the next generation mobile service, with call rates starting at 40 paise a minute. The calls will be charged at the ‘per second' pulse rate. The GSM arm of Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTSL) also announced some attractive tariffs plans and free offer on data services.
Tata DoCoMo announced different tariff plans for post-paid and pre-paid 3G mobile services ranging from Rs.350 to Rs.2,000, which include data usage plans. Similarly, for 3G data services on large screens like computers and laptops, it has announced a package of Rs.2,000 for 15 GB of data usage at a speed of 21.1 Mbps. However, usage beyond 15 GB would be free but at a speed of 256 kbps. The company said all purchases and recharges of 3G services done before December 31 will get an additional 100 MB of free data a month for the first two months, as an invitation offer
“Our dual-tone pricing strategy — small screen plans and large screen plans — provides tremendous flexibility and value to our customers, enabling them to choose options best suited to their usage patterns and share of pocket, thereby stamping out any worry or concerns over heavy usage and high bills. These tariffs are designed to offer total freedom to customers — to stop them worrying about bills,” TTSL Executive President (Mobility Business Division) Deepak Gulati told journalists here.
Tata DoCoMo offers 3G services in nine circles for which it had bagged the spectrum. The company is in talks with BSNL and MTNL to ensure pan-India roaming for its subscribers.
