Blue Star on Monday launched a new range of energy labelled (star-rated) room air-conditioners.

Addressing presspersons here, B. Thiagarajan, President, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Products Group, said The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Ministry of Power) had made ‘energy labelling’ (star rating) mandatory from January 7 and the company had spruced up its product portfolio. The comprehensive range of 2, 3 and 5 star-rated window and wall mounted split air-conditioners would be available in multiple capacities of 1, 1.5 and 2 tonnes.

P.V. Rao, Vice-President, room air-conditioners and refrigeration products division, said the energy savings would be a minimum of 10 per cent for 2-star and 25 per cent in the case of 5-star. Besides being energy efficient, these air-conditioners would offer several attractive features which include high efficiency filters, blue fin coils and 4-way oscillating louvers.
