Small units hail budget proposals

March 01, 2010 10:27 pm | Updated 10:27 pm IST - PANAJI:

The Chamber of Small Industries Association (COSIA) has said that the facility of quarterly returns and availment of full credit on capital goods proposed in the Union budget 2010-11 to micro and small enterprises will facilitate the working of this sector with more ease.

“I am happy that both these demands of COSIA are accepted by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee,'' COSIA President M. R. Khambete saud in a release issued from Mumbai on Sunday. Similarly, more allocation to the MSME Ministry would provide more funds to enhance the competitiveness of these enterprises.

A formation of a high-level council to monitor Task Force recommendations would prove useful in solving of the issues of MSMEs, he said. However, the hike in duty on petrol and diesel was a matter of concern, noted Mr. Khambete.
