The Festive season seems to be setting in and bringing cheer for Renault as the French carmaker has received overwhelming response to its recently launched sub-Rs.4 lakh small car Kwid.
Launched at a price of about Rs.2,57 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) on September 24, Renault Kwid, has received over 25,000 bookings including a good number from Tier-II and Tier-III cities, indicating a revival of demand in the entry level car segment.
The delivery of petrol-powered Kwid is expected to commence next week. Comes with a mileage promise of about 25 kmpl, Kwid will offer 50,000 km/2 years maintenance policy, extendable up to 80,000 km /4 years.
“We have done the basics right. We worked on all parameters to make it appeal to the buyers. Among other features, Kwid has got the biggest boot space in the segment. So, we have a right product, right pricing and launching it at a right time,” Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India told The Hindu.
With interest rate cut and festive season around the corner, Renault is looking to reap huge benefits through Kwid. Also, the car is coming in a segment, which has not seen any big action. Only Maruti managed to create some excitement to woo buyers.
Kwid is first product out of Renault-Nissan Alliance’s new vehicle platform CMF-A, a global platform conceived to develop affordable cars for emerging markets.
