Crude oil production during June was at 3,101 thousand tonnes, outperforming the target for the month by 3 per cent, but falling short of the production achieved in June last year by 0.7 per cent. Natural gas production by both government-run and private companies fell short of targets in June.
During April-June, crude oil production stood at 9,305.5 thousand tonnes, which is 2.7 per cent higher than the target, but 0.9 per cent lower than the production achieved in April-June 2014.
While ONGC outperformed its target of 1850 thousand tonnes by 0.21 per cent in June, OIL fell short of its target for the period by 6 per cent. Private companies and joint ventures performed the best, producing 11.9 per cent more than the target set for them in June. However, looking at the cumulative production in April-June, private companies produced 1.7 per cent less than they did in the same period last year.
Both ONGC and OIL reported that output was affected due to high incidences of water and power cuts.
Natural gas production during June was 2,722.9 million metric standard cubic metres (MMSCM), 3.2 per cent lower than the target for the month and 5.9 per cent lower than the production during June 2014.
ONGC produced the least natural gas relative to its target for June. Its production, at 1,804 MMSCM in June, was 95.5 per cent of the target for the month. This figure was 98 per cent for OIL and 99.75 per cent for the private players.
