Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen on Saturday inaugurated Nokia Siemens Network’s expanded development centre here.

The facility is equipped with latest research and development facilities and telepresence to enable strong interaction with the company’s other global development sites and hosts one of the company’s three remote testing laboratories.

The centre also hosts experts in pre-sales, product management, programme management and technical support, as well as process and quality assurance activities.

According to Johann Haslinger, head of Nokia Siemens Networks Development Centre, “By moving to a larger, more modern facility, the centre will not only enhance our development efforts, but also means product innovation in one area can be easily transferred across our whole business.”

Lauri Kivinen, head of Corporate Affairs, Nokia Siemens Network, said, “the new facility is in line with our commitment to invest in India and brings us closer to our customers.”
