Nikon on Wednesday launched its new range of cameras equipped with latest features and technology for better results.
The Japan-based imaging products manufacturer also announced plans to spend Rs. 62 crore this year on marketing its products in India.
The eight new cameras are priced between Rs. 4,990 and Rs. 24,950 that come with Nikkor lenses and ‘Expeed' digital image processing concept that ensures high-quality pictures.
These cameras will be available in Nikon's 40 shops-in-shop zones across 25 cities besides other retail outlets.
Stating that the onset of summer was the best time to launch new cameras as it corresponds with the vacation season in India,

Nikon India Managing Director Hidehiko Tanaka said: “Compact segment for Nikon India has grown double the size last year with our market share increasing from a 6 per cent to 13 per cent and we expect it to touch 15 per cent by the close of 2010. Last year, the company launched 16 cameras — 12 compact and four SLRs.” Nikon has plans to scale up the Nikon Zones from 40 to 80 by the end of this year to ensure accessibility of its latest products, while the dealer base would also be ramped up from 1,250 to 1,800 across India, he added.
