National Real Estate Development Council (Naredco), which represents stakeholders engaged in various fields of real estate development, will present to the Centre a detailed report of various public-private partnership (PPP) models that would help meet housing requirements in urban India, particularly for urban poor.

“Experts from various fields involved in real estate development will present the report and suggest measures to Union Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja at our forthcoming national conference on PPP in housing on October 9.

The meeting will also help evolve innovative, transparent and hassle-free PPP models which could bring synergy between public and private sectors in tackling housing requirements of urban India,” Naredco President Rohtas Goel said.

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Goel said experiences of public bodies and private sector would also be factored in the report, while Knight Frank, an international property consultant, would present the outcome of their research done in this area and suggest viable PPP models. “There is a need to synergise efforts of government and private sector for mass social housing on a wide scale. PPP is the need of the hour so that mass housing is made possible,” he added.
