Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani met Telecom Secretary J.S. Deepak to discuss Reliance Jio’s rollout plans. The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of a public spat between incumbent operators and Jio. Jio has accused operators such as Bharti, Idea and Vodafone of not providing enough interconnection points for calls originating from its network. The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) claims Jio is bypassing regulations by providing full-fledged services in the guise of network testing. During the meeting, Mr. Ambani also flagged the interconnect issue, a source said. — Special Correspondent
