Sensex trading flat in afternoon

Indian equities were trading flat Wednesday afternoon, with a key index ruling 4.12 points higher than its previous close.

At 1.37 p.m., the 30—share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower at 17,032.01 points, was trading at 17,054.77 points, up 4.12 points or 0.02 percent from its last close of 17,050.65 points.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 5,071.6 points, against the previous close at 5,062.25 points, with a marginal gain of 0.15 percent.

Broader market indices were trading in the green, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.81 percent higher and the BSE small cap index 1.17 percent up.
