Erasing early losses, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by over 46 points in early morning trade on Friday on emergence of buying by funds at existing lower levels.

The Sensex, which had lost nearly 62 points in the opening trade, bounced back to trade 46.20 points up, or 0.27 per cent at 17,312.07 points at 10.15 hrs. Information technology, healthcare and capital goods sector stocks led the recovery.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose 8.70 points, or 0.17 per cent to 5,187.60 points.

Bharti Airtel shot up by 2.57 per cent to Rs. 265.30, Financial Tech by 3.22 per cent to Rs. 1,450 and HCL Technologies by 2.58 per cent to Rs. 407.50.

Brokers said apart from buying by funds at select counters, reports of partial recovery on Asian bourses also helped stocks to reverse an early downward trend.
