Rupee up 6 paise against dollar

May 22, 2013 10:04 am | Updated 10:04 am IST - Mumbai

The rupee on Wednesday recovered marginally by 6 paise to 55.35 against dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on fresh selling of the US currency by exporters.

Strengthening of the euro against the dollar in overseas market and a higher opening in the domestic equity market supported the rupee, dealers said.

The rupee had lost 30 paise to close at nearly six-month low of 55.41 in the previous session due to sustained dollar demand from importers and weak local equities.
