The rupee on Tuesday gained 14 paise to 55.09 against the dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.
Besides, euro and yen’s strengthening against the dollar overseas also supported the rupee, dealers said.
