The rupee appreciated further by 11 paise to 60.31 against the dollar in early trade on Wednesday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on continued selling of the U.S. currency by exporters and increased capital inflows.

Forex dealers said besides selling of the American currency by exporters and banks, gains in other Asian currencies against the dollar and a higher opening in the domestic stock market also supported the rupee.

The rupee had gained 23 paise to close at 60.42 against the dollar on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose 76.45 points, or 0.34 per cent, to trade at 22,542.64 in early trade on Wednesday.
