The rupee on Wednesday depreciated by 13 paise to trade at a fresh three-month low of 51.60 against the US dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market in early trade, due to capital outflows and increased demand for the American currency from importers.

Dealers said apart from dollar gains against the euro overseas, increased demand for the US currency from importers and capital outflows, mainly weighed on the rupee here.

The rupee had lost 33 paise to close at nearly a three— month low of 51.47/48 against the dollar yesterday.

Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark index Sensex fell by 150.63 points, or 0.87 per cent, to 17,093.21 in early trade.
