Gold gained Rs. 10 to Rs. 30,450 per 10 grams in the bullion market in New Delhi on Monday, while silver rose by Rs. 300 to Rs. 54,400 per kg on scattered buying for the festive season.

Traders said some demand for the festive season mainly supported the rise in prices of both the precious metals.

Gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs. 10 each to Rs. 30,450 and Rs. 30,250 per 10 grams, respectively.

Sovereign remained steady at Rs. 24,500 per piece of eight grams.

Silver ready climbed Rs. 300 to Rs. 54,400 per kg, while weekly-based delivery shed Rs. 20 to Rs. 53,620 per kg on lack of buying interest.
