As many as 50 Indian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies will participate at the GITEX 2009, which is a five-day event and considered to be a converging platform for professionals from the field.
This year it will be held from October 18-22 here.
Of the Indian participants, 35 companies will use the event as a platform to launch their new products and services.
Among the participants this year, Angler iTech will be launching its fleet management software which provides real time vehicle location and tracking.
Making the announcement, Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council Middle East Regional Director Kamal Vachani said export of electronics hardware was not affected by global recession and this sector has registered a growth of 19 percent during 2008-09 as against 13.44 per cent last year.
“Export of electronics hardware from India during 2008-09 is estimated to be USD 3.91 billion, up from USD 3.27 billion in 2007-08.”
During GITEX 2009 India’s leading UPS/Invertors manufacturers, including SU-Kam, Genus Power Infrastructure and Luminous Power Technologies will display their products.
“Dubai’s geographical proximity to the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia and its easy access to Europe and the Mediterranean make it a good location for many businesses. Many Indian companies find Dubai an ideal location for enhancing their businesses,” Mr. Vachani said.
