India’s second largest IT services company Infosys, on Thursday evening announced salary hike for its employees. The hike announced will be across board and for employees working in India it would be an average 6.5 per cent.
In the previous year also Bengaluru headquarted company had given salary hike in the range of 6-8 per cent for employees in India while for onsite employees it was about 1-2 per cent.
In an intranet posting by the company, the salary hike will be effective from April 1 and the average increment for top performers would be 9 per cent. As per the new salary hike, average onsite salary hike is in the tune of around 2 per cent.
“Compensation reviews are being rolled out in 55 countries across the globe, effective April 1, 2015. The average increase in India is 6.5 per cent and can go up to 9 per cent for high performers," the company said.
This is the first compensation hike across board after Vishal Sikka took over as Infosys CEO in last August. Mr Sikka after assuming office as CEO last year had announced quarterly promotions for 5,000 employees.
