Hero Honda plans to set up fourth unit

March 11, 2010 11:47 pm | Updated 11:47 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Hero Honda is planning to set up its fourth plant for which a feasibility study is being conducted in 10 States.

“There are at least 10 States we are looking at for setting up the plant. The feasibility study will come up with capacity, investment, models and the location. It will take at least six months to take the final call,” Hero Honda Managing Director Pawan Munjal told journalists here.

Stating that they were looking at options with open mind, Mr. Munjal said they had met Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa, while the Rajasthan Government had also assured of full cooperation.

On the current demand scenario, Mr. Munjal said, “the industry was growing at a healthy rate… we expect the industry to continue to grow at a double digit rate. However, increasing commodity prices and additional cost due to implementation of new emission norms from April could have an impact on the volume,'' he added.
