Flowserve Corporation has expanded its facility in Coimbatore to manufacture engineered pumps for the power and oil and gas sectors.

It has invested about $20 million during the last two years to add a production facility, testing laboratory and administrative space to the existing two production blocks. The block III unit was inaugurated here last week.

According to a company release, it started operations in Coimbatore in 2007 to manufacture process pumps for the chemical and oil and gas markets. It expanded in 2008 to cover the medium range vertical and multistage barrel pumps for the power and oil and gas markets.

The new facility here will support the company’s existing operations in the domestic market and provide products for the power and oil and gas industries across the Asia Pacific region.
