Fiat to supply diesel engines to Maruti

Suzuki Motor Corporation on Wednesday reached an agreement with Fiat for the supply of Fiat's 1.3-litre MultiJet 75 hp BS-IV small diesel engine, produced under license by Fiat India Automobiles Ltd. to Suzuki's affiliate company, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL).

One lakh engines

As per the agreement, FIAL, which is a joint venture between Fiat and Tata Motors, will supply up to one lakh engines per year to MSIL starting from January, 2012, for three years. The engine will be installed on Suzuki branded vehicles produced in India by MSIL for the local market.
