Diagnostic labs aggregator gearing for launch

February 01, 2016 04:28 pm | Updated 04:28 pm IST - Hyderabad:

A Hyderabad start-up focussed on becoming a diagnostic laboratories aggregator is gearing up to roll out its services in the twin cities within a fortnight.

The Portal Labtalk.in, founder director Rajshekar Reddy says, is partnering only with NABL accredited laboratories. “We have tied up with eight major diagnostic centres”, he says, adding that the company sees great business potential.

It is not just about a technology platform hosting different laboratories, he says. The two-month old start-up will collect samples from the customers’ doorsteps, get them tested at a laboratory (from among those onboard) of their choice and inform them about the reports.

While the number of laboratories is now less than 100, he is confident of this going up given there are around 700 big, medium, small and non-branded diagnostic labs across Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He agrees that not many of them are not NABL accredited, an essential criteria insisted by the company.

From here, Mr. Reddy wants to take this venture to district headquarters across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Besides through the web portal, the start-up plans to offer the services through a toll-free helpline. It would benefit customers who do not have access to internet and not conversant with mobile apps, he says. Both the portal and the helpline are to be launched in the second week of this month while a mobile app would follow a week later, he says.

On the investments, Mr.Reddy says Rs.50 lakh is what has gone into the business so far and the company is looking to raise Rs.5 crore seed funds.
