Vodafone launches 3G Android smartphone at Rs. 4,995

Telecom major Vodafone on Monday launched a new Android-operating system based 3G handset ‘Vodafone Smart’ in the country.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor and Android 2.2.1 OS, the handset is designed for tech savvy customers providing them access to mobile apps, games, internet and social networking platforms on-the-go, Vodafone said in a statement.

The smartphone, priced at Rs. 4,995, is sure to delight young audience with its looks, smart features, host of exciting apps and 3G connectivity, Vodafone India Chief Marketing Officer Kumar Ramanathan said.

Vodafone subscribers will also get a special introductory offer of double data Benefit on their 3G subscription, the statement said.

The handset comes with built-in features like 2.8 inch capacitive touch display, 2 mega pixel camera, video recording and MP4/3GP playback, up to 32GB expandable memory (2GB card free), stereo FM and MP3.
